Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Policy for KCA Camping Adventures
1. Introduction
KCA Camping Adventures (“KCA”) is committed to the highest standards of Anti-Money Laundering (AML) compliance and Counter-Terrorist Financing (CTF). This policy outlines our commitment to preventing the use of our services for money laundering, terrorist financing, and other illegal activities. All employees, agents, and affiliates of KCA are required to adhere to this policy.
2. Purpose
The purpose of this policy is to:
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations related to AML and CTF.
- Protect KCA from being used as a conduit for illegal activities.
- Promote a culture of compliance and integrity within KCA.
3. Scope
This policy applies to all employees, agents, contractors, and business partners of KCA. It covers all aspects of KCA’s operations, including but not limited to tour operations, vehicle rentals, camping grounds, and recreational services.
4. Definitions
- Money Laundering: The process of concealing or disguising the origins of illegally obtained money to make it appear legitimate.
- Terrorist Financing: The provision of funds for terrorist activities.
- Know Your Customer (KYC): Procedures to verify the identity of clients and assess the potential risks of illegal intentions in the business relationship.
5. Customer Due Diligence (CDD)
KCA will conduct CDD on all customers to identify and verify their identity. This process includes:
- Collecting identification information such as name, address, date of birth, and identification number.
- Verifying the information provided through reliable, independent source documents, data, or information.
- Conducting ongoing monitoring of the business relationship to ensure consistency with the customer’s risk profile.
6. Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD)
For customers identified as higher risk, KCA will apply EDD measures, including:
- Obtaining additional information on the customer and intended nature of the business relationship.
- Obtaining information on the source of funds or wealth.
- Conducting more frequent and detailed monitoring of the business relationship.
7. Record Keeping
KCA will maintain records of all transactions, customer identification documents, and due diligence measures for a minimum of five years from the end of the business relationship. These records will be readily available for inspection by relevant authorities.
8. Reporting Suspicious Activity
Employees are required to report any suspicious activity or transactions to the designated AML Compliance Officer. Suspicious activities include, but are not limited to:
- Transactions that appear unusual or inconsistent with the customer’s known business or personal activities.
- Large or complex transactions with no apparent legitimate purpose.
- Requests for anonymity or reluctance to provide complete information.
9. Training and Awareness
KCA will provide ongoing training to employees on AML and CTF regulations, the identification of suspicious activities, and the procedures for reporting suspicious transactions. Training will be conducted annually and updated as necessary to reflect changes in laws and regulations.
10. Compliance Officer
KCA will appoint an AML Compliance Officer responsible for overseeing the implementation of this policy, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, and serving as the point of contact for AML-related matters.
11. Internal Controls and Audits
KCA will implement internal controls and procedures to ensure compliance with this policy. Regular audits will be conducted to assess the effectiveness of these controls and identify areas for improvement.
12. Review and Updates
This policy will be reviewed annually and updated as necessary to reflect changes in laws, regulations, and business practices. Any amendments to this policy must be approved by senior management.
